This is a picture of my neighbor Grace, I personally adore this shot and this girl. She may be a few years younger than me, but she has my back through everything, no matter what. Tonight we were out shooting at her house, I needed a few people for portraits. I selected her and my friend Thomas as subjects, my dad too. I like the bricks and the pillar, it shows depth of the backdrop and subject.
As I originally stated in my bio, music to me is more than rests, notes, measures, lyrics, or anything of that nature. Music to me is like therapy, it helps get out the words that you cannot express. Photography is the same way, it's more than a form of art or using a camera, it's a freedom of self-expression. It expresses who you are and captures the moments in life you wish to hold with you forever.
Throughout my Photography career in high school, I have used a wide variety of cameras. None of them, not even close have been close to this one. About two or so months ago, my dad called me into the room, he had a huge camera bag, much bigger than the one needed for my point and shoot. At first I was like, "early birthday present?" He laughed and said no, it was something else. Back in the late 80's, my dad lived in Jamaica for roughly two years before getting married to my mom on a 4H project. He used this camera to tell stories, even to the future generation known as his children. These were back in the days of film, nothing downloadable like Gimp even existed, nor did Picmonkey or any other editing software. I love this camera, and the history behind it.
As far as everyone knows, Christmas is coming up. Not only is Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, I love the background I share with it. Going to open presents, watching my live Nativity reenactment at church, seeing family, you know it. Christmas to me is also a time to forget all about the stress in life and just have a day to yourself, not have to worry about what you spill on your shirt or anything. Happy Holidays!
Personally, I adore this shot. I took this last year in Photography for my Rhythm and Angles. I was at my friend Alison's and couldn't decide what to shoot, I know, bummer right? Suddenly, something caught my eye. It may sound cliche, but I loved shooting this eyeshadow palette. All the shadows repeat, much like tracks on a train. That's basically what Rhythm is, everything repeats. Lastly, no, that is not a chemical stain, it's eyeliner she smudged on it. This shot will always be one of my favorites.
For Reflection, I took a picture of my acne wash, I know, random. I did this for reflection because you can see things popping out from the mirror, such as the towel rod and my makeup bag. The back of the bottle is reflecting as well, showing various bathroom products and the sink.
This is Kensie. Not only is she an amazing girl or my sister from another mister, she's also great at shooting portraits. This was taken during the warmer months around August after a sticky and rainy band camp. Until that Saturday after band camp, everything was completely soaked and muddy, not shooting weather if I say so myself. One day, around two weeks or so after band camp Kensie came over. I had sent her my previous work with digital and film over Facebook, she fell in love. She also fell in love with this portrait I shot of her in my yard. I hope to have her for another shoot again before I start college in the fall.
